A Trip to the Coast

Between each trip within Chile, we return to base camp - Cecy & Enrique's apartment in Santiago.  Here we sleep in really comfy beds, have constant warm water/showers, a little gym to work out in (not consistently after my first two weeks), and a swimming pool.  Another wonderful thing is that Pao and her family is just a few blocks away.  So lots of family time!

There is a terrific park behind their buildings called Santa Rosa and it has high brick walls, is huge, and has great paths through it for walking and riding bikes, and some fun play structures.

I made a friend at church - her name is Mayra and she is a missionary with the Assemblies of God from Texas.  She has a daughter that is Tanner's age and he really likes his new friend!

In the days after Christmas and before New Year's Eve, we went to the coast for some beach time.  Our first two nights were at Andres Nogara's family's house in Concon - but before that we rode to Quintero with Andres and met his dad at the Yacht Club where they took Kiko and Tristan fishing in the ocean!  They had a great experience but not many photos (to my dismay!)

Tristan did not catch any fish that day but he did see two PENQUINS out in the ocean, which was pretty awesome.

We also had delicious fish for lunch at the Yacht Club so all was not lost!

This was a really special day for Tristan.  And Kiko loves to spend time with his best friend, Nogi!
